I totally agree with you. I was just using common examples that people know. If I said immortal tech, would you understand the question?
P.S. If you don't think early Led-Zep was "hard rock", then you really need some help, dude. They kick ***.

Led Zep is NOT heavy metal, but they ARE hard rock. Eagles & Pink Floyd are soft rock. Led Zep & ACDC are hard rock...for their time. Not that hard!

I was born in 1991! Most people my age listen to Fallout Boy...how gay is that. I listen 2 Jimi Hendrix, Gunz N Roses, etc. when I listen to bands. Also, some metal.

I don't call P!@Disco "Hard Rock".
The Media does. I should've said Fall Out Boy.

Wait IDK-

I don't want to marry you if you think that Led Zep is not hard for their time. Read my comments through again. I should've read yours more clearly the first time.

But I do agree with the stuff you said about Justin Timberlake. I hate that little prick.

And country, IDK.

Idk, maybe I wanna marry you again.

But Led Zep is Definitely HARD ROCK!!!!

OK Answer. Panic! at the disco totally sucks though. Switchfoot is OK. Nothing great, but I see your point.

I AGREE! I like some of the bands/artists you have down there. A very intellectual answer indeed.

I always thought country was in the 50's, often integrated with rock 'n' roll.

Good music is still out there. You are just thinking of the bands on the radio.

And Led Zeppelin IS hard rock, obviously with blues influence. They could also be considered heavy metal.

EDIT: Pink Floyd is actually progressive rock.

And yes, Led Zeppelin can be considered heavy metal. They lean more to bluesy hard rock, but their sound definitely is at least "proto-metal". They don't sound like would metal would become, but without Led Zeppelin, metal would be A LOT different.

Each individual has his/her own opinion as to what constitutes "good music". My own taste in music is rather eclectic. I own CDs by KISS, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, REM, Simply Red, The Eagles, The Beatles, U2, The Tragically Hip (go to one of their concerts if the opportunity presents itself), Michael Jackson (when he was as "normal" as he could possibly be), Rod Stewart, Elton John, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, The Rolling Stones, The Dixie Chicks, Ray Charles, Willie Nelson, Randy Travis, Tim McGraw, etc. etc. I also own CDs by various artists who would be considered part of the "Motown Sound", etc. etc. I believe that ONE of the problems with the music of today is that too many recording artists release covers of songs instead of releasing something "new". It also appears that more artists are depending on the writing abilities of others instead of writing their own songs. Originality and creativity seem to be sacrificed in order to get an album produced in "record" time. That's my take on it.

No offense, but this is a weak assumption. So, let's take LZ & P!ATD and leave out the other 99.99999% of rock bands. Makes perfectly good sense. Not to mention who in their frigging right mind would consider Panic! a "hard rock band?"

Name one publication or critic who called P!ATD "hard rock." Perhaps it was the same intelligentsia who deemed Jethro Tull as a metal band for the 1989 Grammy Awards.

i agree .led zeppelin is awesome.. panic at the disco is passable,if you're in a mood..but not even close to LZ..
i never liked hip hop much..but those days thery at least sang..well rapped.. about issues..not about a bartender.. or buying someone a "drank"..or about a girl shaking her ***..
justin timberlake is too squaky for words... so is akon for that matter...
country..well... certian stuff are okay...but not much...
my current favourtire is switchfoot..amazing guiatrs, drums, vocals, bass and lyrics...
i[m not old either,coz i was born in 1993

Good music is still around...different generations have to different tastes though. I do think Panic is crap, but i like a lot of music today...rock aint dead, but it may be a different rock. You cant say todays generation of music sucks really...u may think it does, but its just different taste....Im sure when u were a kid ur parents hated your music...they grew up lisening to jazz and Big Band music...a lot of people though the Beatles were satan...really, they were one of the great bands of all time...the "original" 4 person rock band. So its just a gernerational gap thing.

So...you are simply asking why lyrics are dangerous? The web offers us such a lot of extra possibilities to uncover well track in ultra-modern international. Try watching! Don't simply whinge approximately mainstream stuff.

neither led zeppelin or panic at the disco is hard rock...they're just rock...

and mainstream sucks at all genres anyways...dig deep in any genre for good music.

EDIT: to guy below: led zeppelin is not hard rock nor could they be classified as heavy metal...wtf ?!

There are just soo many bad bands out there getting signed that it is impossible to find the good ones.... try listening to http://www.myspace.com/shaunmichaelhughes, the recording is a little messed up at the end though

as everyone gets older, they start to lose interest in the present trends in music. for instance, my parents think that all music after the mid-80's is trash. i'm 21, and even now i find that most musicians coming out after 2000 kind of......stink.
