I come from Madison, WI and there was this club called Merlyns. It was trouble from the start and I was there during 2 shootings but just kept going back. Great music to dance to. This was during the 80's when Fidel had let those criminals into the US hence the shootings and stuff.
Boy that place was fun though!

In my homecity, Sydney, Water Bar is the best.. They have a great ambiance and great list of cocktails too. Here in LA, I'd have to say, Avalon Hollywood. There are many great bars here like the Bungalow Club, The Viper Room but so far Avalon is my favorite. I've been to this bar in Bangkok too with my sister and it's called Q Bar. It's really cool and hippy. Nice interiors too.

It no longer exists, but it was the Sub Club is San francisco. Great DJs, good dance mix, not too long of a wait to get it (but i became a member and had no problems with it)

Well one that I can think of now is Ruby Skky and Suite 181 in San Francisco. Love em both. Great dance mixes, and people. I didnt want to leave.
