yes, of course, do you think they would be so popular and widely used if they were a scam?
They are not 100%, nothing is, but if you use them correctly (never skip a day or take them with antibiotics etc.) then pregnancy is very unlikely, probably less than 1%. But they don't protect against STDs so make sure your guy is clean (you should get him tested if you haven't already). If he had a disease you would need condoms anyway.
Go to your doctor and discuss hormonal birth control with them. Togther you can choose a pill, make sure you follow the instructions. You have to take it every day. If you don't want to do that then you could try a hormonal injection.

Most birth control pills are "combination pills" containing a combination of the hormones estrogen and progesterone to prevent ovulation (the release of an egg during the monthly cycle). A woman cannot get pregnant if she doesn't ovulate because there is no egg to be fertilized. The Pill also works by thickening the mucus around the cervix, which makes it difficult for sperm to enter the uterus and reach any eggs that may have been released. The hormones in the Pill can also sometimes affect the lining of the uterus, making it difficult for an egg to attach to the wall of the uterus.each type of birth control method works depends on a lot of things. These include whether a person has any health conditions or is taking any medications or herbal supplements that might interfere with its use. .

Yes, it works very well IF you take it every day. Basically, you take a pill every day. On some pills, you skip a week for your period and then start back. The protection lasts as long as you continue to take a pill correctly. But the pill does NOT protect you from HIV or from any sexually transmitted diseases ... just something to keep in mind. Talk to your doctor, as the pill has to be by prescription. The doctor can also answer your questions about it.

The pill is one of the most relaible forms of birth control if taken correctly...99.9% effective. You have to remember to take your pill every day, best if taken the same time each day. Also, they lose effectiveness if taken with some kinds of antibiotics, so you'd have to use a back-up method if you take any. If you get a stomach virus where you throw up and have diarrhea, that would be another time you would have to use a back-up method. Other than that, they are great. Your period becomes more predictable, less heavy, and less painful, and you won't have to stress out over pregnancy.

It is one of the most effective controseptives out there but as long as you take it when your ment to. There has been soo many cases of people who have missed a day or two and ended up getting pregnant so watch for that. Otherwise it is just as safe as using a condom.

I dont really trust the pills. everyone i knew of that was pregnant was on the pill when they got pregnant. He needs to ALWAYS wear a condom. Men complain alot about it But it doesnt hurt them or anything of the nature. (dont let them lie to you) Im on the 3 month shot called Depo Prevera. Its 99.7% effective and you dont have to try to remember to take it. You just go to your doc every 3 months for a shot. Even with that birthcontrol I still make my boyfriend of three years wear condoms... Now and days alot of girls are getting pregnant often on the patch and pills because they think that because they take birthcontrol they have no way of getting pregnant.. WRONG!!!!! It only reduces the chance of pregnancy..It doesnt totally whipe out the possiblity of get pregnant.
