Most people will debate this, it's true though, you can test it with a hydrometer. I learned this in the Army a long time ago.

If you start with a 3.2% beer (most normal beers) and add 1 tsp of key lime juice per pint (it has to be key lime not regular lime) then you can increase the alcohol level by almost a full percent to 4.0% by volume. Check it and see - it's true. That doesn't sound like a lot but it's really nearly 30% more alcohol than 3.2% beer.

it has something to do with the reaction of the lime juice acids to the yeast in the beer and an immediate reaction. I've tested this with a hydrometer and it is a fact - 3.2% beer becomes 4% beer when 1tsp of key lime juice is added. I've heard pink grapefruit also works but tastes nasty in beer.

I've never tried it with a 5+% beer but would expect an increase to about 6.25%

The strongest I drink is 8 o'clock coffee in the morning. Sorry I can't help you here. Why do you want to get messed up anyway? Can't face the world the way it is or what? Try staying sober. It can be fun also.
