I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who does that! I call all of my cats 'pookie' or 'baby' but their individual nicknames are:
Miranda - Furry Murray or Randa or Ethel Murray
Sabrina - Breena Reena or BreeBree
Sammy - Spammy Lou
Georgie - Georgie Porgy Puddn' Pie
I know - I'm weird! lol

It's silly to I suppose but yes I do! Even the fish who don't have 'proper names'
Willow the dog gets Wills for short and my son calls her hearth-rug, because you could step on her when she's comfortable, she wont move! Ever tried stepping over a Shepherd, it's not easy when your less than 5ft tall!
Bhellium cat gets Bell for short or old boy! He IS 15!
Kia cat gets called Tiger because she's a tabby and that's what she thinks she is! I just wish I wasn't her intended 'prey'. She's an unbelievably 'cute' 3 yr old with anyone but me!
As the humans in the house also have nick-names why shouldn't the rest of the family!

We call Cess'l "Cess pool of plague and infection" cuz he smells really bad. He's a cat that never learned to clean himself quite right. Or "Cessy baby" or "Poody tat"
We call the dog, Franky, "Fwanka," "Fwankamabooboo" "Oooza wooza Fwanky" "otter face" "mistoh puppy baby"
