It's not my period because I just got it a week ago. I don't think it's old blood. It sure don't look like blood. It's just black/brown slime. What is it and why do I get it?

Sounds like old blood at the end of your cycle. I had this same problem years ago. The period would stop, then in a day or two I would have a small amount of dark brownish discharge. Doc told me it was most likely old menstrual blood. Blood doesn't stay red forever.

If this continues to be bothersome to you, and if you're have any type of associated pain, you probably should set up a visit with a gynecologist just to be sure everything's ok.

No it's blood, and it is most likely a clot. This is normal and you should not be alarmed by the term clot. Clots are the slmiy discharge things you are probably speaking of. They can be brown, red or very dark red (they appear black).
Most likely that is all it is.
They can come at anytime for whatever reason. This has happened to me before during and after my period, and I've had red, brown, and dark red also.
Your probably okay.

not normal .... black is worrying, if it was just brown I would say spotting, just residual stuff but the other sounds like you have some sort of infection going on... go get some tests done honey before it gets any worse (and it can).
My sister had chlamidia shes only 39 and had to have a hysterectomy go get the tests done, it could be something really easily sorted... hope all goes ok for you

a regular vinegar douche that you can buy at a drug store can help you clear out any remaining cloths after your period. Using douches feels clean but is often not recommended by doctors. once a month is minimal but should not use if you have any doubts that it could be an std.
