You just need to tell him... Hey i'm going out with some friends... You're too old to have someone restrain you.... I was in a relationship like that. I just put my foot down... and drew a line.

Honesty is the best policy!! He shouldn't get jealous if you are going out with a gf. The thing is is you lie and he catches you on it then chances are your super possessive bf will be very angry and will think that you are hiding something bigger from him. Try to help him to understand that you need some girl time.
Hope this helps and you get to have fun!!

Find a new one.

Girl, a boyfriend who is super possessive to the point that you have to lie to see your friends is a BAD sign. Things don't get better -they get worse. Possessive now often means abusive later.

Find a guy who doesn't want to lock you in a closet.

Offer him to go if he's possessive-otherwise tell him it's the weekend & you refuse to waste it being ordered to stay home! he's not your father, he has no control over your life, if he's paranoid you're gonna cheat on him, he don't trust you & it may be best to break up, (I've dated a few insecure/jealous/possessive women who were divorced & I didn't know if I should consider them a so-called possessive "mother" or "wife"! (I lived with one & she taught me what a bad marriage can be like)

Don't lie.
But tell him that you want to be on your own for tonight.

&
honey if he is possessive to the point where you HAVE to lie,
thats not the best relationship.

Be honest.
He won't be that mad.

I have an idea (It's relatively new and in the experimental stages) don;t get too excited.......

Why don't you ask him to go with you...just you and him having fun? (A whole new concept of life?)

I, ah, would recommend the truth, and if Mr Possesive can't handle it, get rid of him. If you don't want to get rid of him, then tell him to come along or stay home, his choice.
