Oh yes! I have so many fond memories of drive ins. My car would fit 10 people when I was a teen...we'd go, pull out the lawn chairs from the trunk and have a rip-roaring good time.
After I met my husband they still had a few around. Had to drive far to get there but they were still worth it! Whenever we went north we'd go too with the kids and they got a real kick out of a "drive in" something unheard of for them.
Too bad they faded...nothing more nice than hanging outside on a nice summer night.

There is a Drive-in theatre about an hour from where we live and we went a few times this summer. It was nice enough to pull out the lawn chairs and sit out there and enjoy a cocktail while watching a double feature. They charged $10 a carload, which is cool even if its just you and another person, because you get to watch 2 movies and take your own munchies.

There actually is one in the town I live in but I haven't been to it in about a good 13 years. I don't know why, I just always go to the other movies when I do go (which is not often at all). It plays 2 movies and I usually only like one or the other.

Yes we still have Drive In's in Sydney Australia I go once a month. With movies now being almost 3 hours long it becomes irritating sitting in a cinema, hearing bored kids complaining when does it finish, chip packets and crunching, people wanting you to move to walk past you to go to the bathroom or coming back. You never get this sitting in your car.

Yes, there are two drive-ins near by, and I go to the drive-in at least once a week.
