I would recommend using a liquid concealer to cover the blemishes. Use one that's close to your own skin tone and blend it in really well. A mineral powder is great as a foundation because it's light, but evens out your complexion without making it look like you have a lot of foundation on. Also, most of them are better for your skin than your typical foundation. Use a brush to sweep it on rather than a sponge or pad. I like Physician's formula bronzing beads. You want to apply it to the places that the sun normally hits your face, such as your cheekbones and across the bridge of your nose for a natural sun-tanned look. Also, gold-tone eyeshadows and brown liner will not only give you a more sun-kissed, natural look, they will also enhance your blue eyes.

To start off with, using a darker foundation to appear tan isn't the correct way to go. You need to purchase a sunless tanner for your face. There are several products on the market designed especially for the face. Secondly, you must use a foundation that matches your skin tone. Use a small sponge to apply it and only use a little more then a dime size amount. You don't need a lot. Then you can apply your powder. Powder should also be closest to your skin tone as well. You don't need to apply alot, just enough to make your look finished or polished.

put on the powder, avoid the liquid foundation, it seems too dark for you. You want to use a bronzer to look more naturally tanned. As for the blemishes you can take just a dab of the liquid foundation and put it on your ring finger and gently dab it on the spots that need to be covered. Then after you do this apply the powder and the rest of your make up and finish with the bronzer.
Good Luck!

There is a mineral powder made in a bronzer called Neutrogena Mineral Sheers. I love it. It's natural looking and so much better for your skin since it's made with minerals. For an amazing concealer, try Revlon ColorStay Blemish Concealer. I use it and it stays on the entire day and doesn't look too cakey. Stay away from foundation since all foundations can make you look cakey, plus most of them clog your pores. I hope I could help!

First if it is looking fake and different from your skin color you need to buy the right color of foundation. Have you heard of naked minerals? It is a knew foundation, you get a kabookie brush with it. I put that on then that is it but if I have a zit on my face I do naked minerals then I put on the cream foundation on the spot I need it then the naked minerals again. And if you want to be more tan buy some of the tan on spray it works like a charm, or go to a taning bed.

Hi! I actually have the same problem, and your complaexion sounds a lot like mine, except i just dyed my hair black 5 weeks back... anyways, my friend bought this stuff from the drugstore called Maybelline Mattee Moose. (I think I spelled it wrong) anyways, i got one shade darker and just used a little less than normal, and it is awesome. It makes your face so silky, I love it because it doesn't even make my face oily and covers everything. If you get a shade darker than your
natural colour it will evenly add a tint of tan to your whole face. I hope this helps. I highly reccomend you buy this stuff, theres nothing else like it!
Also, what the person said about Clinque above me, yeah that stuff is good also, but I am just saying that this Dream Matte Moose stuff is awesome!

I agree with some of the above the Dream Matte Mousse foundations by Maybeline are great. What workes for me is to buy a self tanner for face, usually with a little bronzer and for me it even covers my blemishes without having to do anything else.

Sounds like you need help selecting the right products and colors. Go to a department store at the mall. There will be several cosmetic counters each with a professional able to help you out. They will of course try to sell you the world, but just tell them you need just to get started but want to know what else you could use in the future.

you just cant use makup to look tanner. you have to match close to your skin. try stopping at the mall and having someone at the clinique counter pick a foundation for you. it's expensive, but if you wear the right shade it will look more natural, and that good quality stuff wont look caked on as long as you dont use a ton of it. i love clinique (superfit is the best one) but use cover girl now and can never get the right shade.
by the time you buy a bunch of drug store brands (cover girl, revlon, neutrogena, almay) trying to get the right shade you could just have bought one GOOD clinique bottle.
dont waste your money on their other products though... drug store brands are just as good. blush, mascara, etc.
hope i helped some!

try a moose foundation. I think maybelline makes one. To prevent the difference in tone maybe go to a dept store and try the foundation on before buying it to make sure it matches right.
