I have been divorced for seven months now. I have not kept in contact with my exhusband. Recently i got an email from him but i dont know how he got my email address. He emailed that he wanted to speak with me but did not want to give his number. i am not sure whether to respond or not. Any ideas as to why he is doing this?

There's no telling how he got the address or what it is he wants. He may have something profound to discuss or he may need some type of closure. Either way, he made an effort on his part to contact you. It's best to afford him courtesy and hear him with an open mind. If it's something you don't care to discuss, you can always end the conversation.

Why is he doing this? Only he can tell you.
What you have to decide is whether YOU want any contact with him or not.
If you decide not, print a copy of his e-mail (for future reference if required), then put a block on your e-mail to his address. You can mark it as "spam" on yahoo and his e-mails will go to bulk mail and be automatically deleted in a month.
If you want to find out what he wants, make arrangements to meet only in a very public place (shopping mall, restaurant) and only during a busy time, so if you want to leave you can.

If he has no number to reach him that is your excuse not to respond to him at all, to many bad things happen to people when they are contacted in this suspicious manner. I don't know how you 2 broke up, and don't sound like you should go and meet him, or respond to him, at this point and time.

That's kinda scary, he getting your email, is he stalking, have you notice that at all. Him not giving out his phone number adds to my fear for you does he not want a trail back to him or is he in a relationship and does not want the girlfriend to find out. Definitely watch your step with him and let people know he is trying to contact you, just in case. Be safe.

Any reason you should be afraid of him?...if not just reply and ask what he wants to talk about that's all. Maybe he has remembered you still have his blue jacket or something like that or he needs your signature to cancel some insurance. Ask him.

Only respond through emails...then you have written proof of what he is up to.

Maybe he realized he can't live without you and wants to make another go of it or maybe he is getting married and felt some sadistic feeling to tell you.

apparently he wants to speak with you about something. you owe that much to the KIDS cause just maybe he wants to see his kids and start a relationship with them again. GodBless
