The Cubs won the division because the Cardinals didn't have their first and second pitchers in their rotation this season. They also lost a few players to injuries. They usually win the division. Now as far as the Cubs and the Brewers either had a shot this year. I hope the Cubs do well in the playoffs, and they do have a good team this season.

Actually Soriano is only one of their many good players. Being a good player is more about exceeding personal expectations; it's about being able to work together with your teammates, being able to score more runs than the other team, and being able to work together to prevent the other team from scoring.
I credit Lou Piniella for having the talent and knowledge necessary to encourage the Cubs to learn to work more effectively as a team, rather than simply working on their own personal skills. And that, my friend, is why the Chicago Cubs have managed to clinch their division (not to mention the Brewers are a true fall-apart-in-a-crunch team).

They clinched it because there good. If Soriano is there only good player than the rest of the NL must suck cuz a team can't win with only one good player.

??? wat? soriano is really good but they have lots of depth on their team and a great manager.lol. Carlos zambrano will finish in the top voting in the cy young also and derek lee and a. Ramirez has had a great season. and their curse is that they wont win the world series not make the playoffs... and once again soriano isnt their only good playa.

they have more than soriano and also their division and the nl is absolutly horrible this year
