The earth's atmosphere is app. 78 % nitrogen gas and 21%oxygen gas. What do you think will happen if this ratio of N2 to O2 were reversed?

The atmosphere would most probably explode. Consider the fact that nitrogen prevents combustion while oxygen FEEDS fires. (That's not exactly accurate, but...)
If this ratio were reversed, then there would be enough oxygen int the atmosphere to ignite it and burn the world to ashes.
(Think fantastic four when they had to gas Human Torch before he reached super nova temperatures. That would have been hot enough to ignite the oxygen and circumvent the nitrogen!
