how do i open the trunk to my '06 honda accord with a valet key?

Uh you can't. You can't open the trunk or the rear seats. Whoever told you that you could is very SILLY.

The valet key is not meant to open the trunk as a security measure. If you leave the valet key with an attendant, they can unlock the door and start the car, but they cannot unlock the trunk. This is by design. A locksmith could make a trunk key, which would in turn operate all of the locks.
