does anyone know the relay number and the position which operates the (traction control)on a vectra 2 ltr 16 valve sri 1997,.i only want the answer to this question,thanks

That's correct. The TC only prevents / allows the wheels to spin / not spin - NO extra power. If you 'dump the clutch' on a wet day with it ON - the car will stutter as the fuel supply is partially cut off to lower engine power & prevent wheel spin. Turn it OFF and your wheel swill spin. This has NO effect on the ABS braking system. The TC used on this age of Vauxhall (until 2000) does NOT use the brakes in any way.

Traction control and Anti lock brakes are most often times the same thing just changing Tyre size can make traction control go mad! General Motor European car just unplug the ABS system at the pump or control assembly under the master Cyl. and see if it does what you want. Of course it will set codes and disable your speedometer.
