yes it is better to put the right ones in it,id take those back and exchange them,if they are the wrong heat range it wont run right, you have to stay with the right heat range which is defined by the number on them, good luck with it.

Ideally, you should always use the same type (heat range) plug in the engine. That is "ideally speaking"; in real life, sometimes you may have to use a different heat range plug in some cylinders since there may be a disparity in operating conditions, due to carbon build-up, fuel dispersion discrepancies, etc. However, I wouldn't just stick the plugs in there "helter-skelter; I'd analyze the plugs that are in the engine to see if a different heat range might be necessary. If you're not "up to snuff" on reading the plugs, I'd simply return the wrong set and try to exchange it for the correct set. If you've already opened the package, you may have to simply "bite the bullet" and buy a complete new set. Good luck!

All of the spark plugs have to be the same number. Some burn hotter than others and produce a hotter spark. It is best to go with the number your vehicle calls for, no matter what brand you get.

yes it does make a difference because each spark plug is gapped different and the depth of the threaded part of the spark plug is different lengths.

Probably no differance at first but you may develop spark knock over time. If your gonna tune it up do it right the first time. You truck will thank you.
