Well i recently asked my mom if I could wear make up and she said no until I am 15. Also I can't do alot of things until I am 15. But do you guys think it's fair? My sister started wearing make up at 14 and other things. But my mom says I shouldn't because my sister is rebel and I'm not.
I only wear lip gloss.

I think your too young to wear a lot of makeup. Like foundation, eyeliner, concealer...you know the whole deal. Maybe you convince your mom to just let you wear eyeliner and blush. I'm 14 and i occasionally wear eyeliner and blush. My mom also said I couldn't wear makeup until I'm 15. Today I'm going to convince my mom to take to the mall to buy the Bare Minerals makeup, I heard it's really good, and not bad for your skin. maybe you could try that it's not noticeable and covers up blemishes very well

NO its not fair. a little make up wouldent hurt anything. If ur sister did it then so should u. It doesnt matter if she is rebel or not it shouldent have to do with anything.U should sit down an have a talk wit her an say something like a little wont hurt. iv been wearing makeup seince i waz 10 but i just wear eye liner, mascara, lip gloss, an bronzer. i quit wearing the whole thing so just talk 2 her an c if u can wear that.

I don't think 13 is to young to wear make-up,I'm 14 and i started wearing make-up when i was 12.But whether or not it looks appropriate is all up to you.If you wear so much that you look like a clown from a circus it'll look really tacky.And if you wear just the right amount you will look really good.It's all about how much you wear.Start out wearing very little make-up that has more of a natural tone , then gradually as you get older start wearing a little bit more and when you reach about 16 start wearing colors of eyeshadow and such that match your outfit.BUT NO MATTER WHAT, DON'T WEAR SO MUCH MAKE-UP YOU LOOK LIKE A CLOWN.(no matter your age!)

well then i think you should start being a rebel too the only reason your mom is saying no is because she doesn't want you to grow up to fast wich is understandable my mom is the same exact way i am 14 and i started wearing it when i was 12 or 13 i think it is the perfect time fo you to start wearing it because at the age of 13 you might start to get blemishes on you face and try to fix it and you will want to wear make-up to cover it up i'm sure if you start being a little more rebelious your mom will let you hope this helps

Well...a lot of people say that you ARE too young, but I think not for a LITTLE powder. How about you wear a little powder, and a little lipgloss. Let her know you are wearing it, and once she gets used to it, wear a little eyeshadow. NOT A LOT! Just a little! By the time you're around 17, you should be wearing all the makeup you want.

I started wearing makeup in 7th grade, but not a lot. I wore pressed powder and mascara with some tinted lip balm. Keep it natural. If I went to a school dance, I'd wear some eyeshadow. But that's it.

Don't worry about make-up now. The most important thing is to protect & nourish your skin. Take the money you would use on make-up & invest in quality skin-care products. (You're never too young to start.) With beautiful skin, make-up isn't necessary. Continue to use the lip gloss for now. When older, you can concentrate on your eyes.

OK, I think I was 14 when my mom started letting me wear makeup. My parents always told me 16 though. I don't think you are too young, necessarily. However, if your mom says wait....you probably should. Trust me, you aren't missing out on any fun just because you don't wear makeup.

while 1st your mother should never say your not rebel then your sister.......no you shouldn't wear makeup..... sorry to say are even agree but you are to young.......but you don't want grow up to fast just wait and you see....that everything pays off before at the end...when you get hit 15 don't wear to much makeup you will look older then what you are....and wont look right.

Personally I do think 13 is too young to wear make up, yes. However I can relate to the desire to wear it, so I can sympathise with you. I wanted to wear it when i was your age too. Unfortunately the truth is it really does look tacky.
Suitable age i would say is 15/16
