We've been together for almost 3 years now, but due to studies we are living in different cities and can meet only once in 3-4 weeks. Yet we talk every day, a lot, and usually describe in detail how our day was/ what we are going to do during the day. Esp abt going-outs we inform each other in advance (i.e. not just before the going-out happens, so that the other has time to arrange sth too).
Two days ago I called, only to be told he's just going out (returned past midnight). What was worse was that this week he's been very busy due to studies and didn't spend almost any time with me. After agreeing he was wrong (which doesn't happen too often), comes today. He tells me he's going out shopping for something at 2pm, now its 2 am and he hasn't returned, and doesn't pick up his mobile.....
How should I react?

PS: I do trust him and I know he is not cheating on me. My question is how to react to that - he is apparently preferring to go hang out with his friends (mostly girls but anyway), than spend the little free time he has with me.

Sorry but he has a girlfriend can you think of any other reason for his insensitive behavior. When a guy does not pick up his cell phone it means one thing he does not want to be disturbed or bothered.

If this is uncommon behavior, you should be a little worried. However,it does sound like he was slowly creating a pattern of being away longer and longer without telling you. If you don't hear from him in 24 hours, call the police, providing you have contacted someone else that could verify his whereabouts first.

If he is alright tell him to just be honest next time, so you don't worry about him anymore. Explain to him that he is grown and all, but you two did have an understanding previously. Good luck and I hope he's safe.

You can't live a life on a phone. So maybe he went out with some friends and lost track of the time. You have a long distance relationship, you can't expect someone to sit by the phone. Be understanding.

Well you really need to trust in this relationship if it is going to work at all. I am confussed as to if you two are in the same place right at the moment or still in different cities. You could ask him y he isn't answering his phone, tell him your worried about him when he does this. but you have to have trust in him.
