Oh, shut the hell up.
Roads are intended for motor vehicles AND bicycles. Sidewalks are for pedestrians. In fact, in a lot of cities it's illegal to ride bikes on sidewalks. What, pray tell, is the bicyclist supposed to do when they come to a corner and the sidewalk ends?
Develop some damned patience. If you are OCCASIONALLY inconvenienced for a few measly seconds, so what? You're still in a car and can easily make up the time.
Christ, people used to be more laid-back and courteous in this country. Now we're surrounded by "Me-Me-Me" egomaniacs and hostility addicts.

I'm a bicyclist and I have to tell you it's a no win situtation. We ride on the street even close to the edge and you risk getting hit and if you ride on the side walk you risk hitting people. A lot of areas should get wise and add those bicycle lanes

because they are acting as a car my father can go 30 miles an hour on his bike and he rides on the road. Also the sidewalk is for pedestrians and not bicycles. it makes sense if you think about. don't get poed cuz its not a big deal if they are going the speed limit. Wow i looked at the rest of the answers and these peeps are big jerks. i guess no one understands that bicycles are allowed on the road. it is your responsibility to be careful around them

I got in an argument with some bicyclist a few months ago when I almost hit him. He told me that if he went on the sidewalk he would get a ticket, so I told him if he stayed on the road I would hit his @$$

It is against the law in most places to ride a bicycle on the sidewalk because they are for pedestrians!

I DO wonder that very same thing! I mean, I damn sure wouldn't be riding a bike on a busy street if there was a sidewalk available! I guess they think no one's going to hit them....And the bad thing is, it seems like they ride right next to your car (if you happen to be in the right lane), in your blind spot. WTF?

the pavement is for pedestrians here in the UK, cyclists can get in a lot of trouble for riding on it.
