I think Hope Solo could have stopped the winning points that Brazil made.

my 80 old grandma would be a beter coach
Hope was making a briliant world cup performance with 3 games with a clean sheet
and then he replaces her by a keeper who played not a single game in over 3 months

No. Scurry just looked rusty out there (she hadn't played an actual game since June) and I think it just undermined the focus of the rest of the team. A former coach of Scurry's was quoted on ESPN as saying that Scurry needed a few games to get into the zone and I think her performance in the Brazil game proved that.
Solo will also not be playing (or in attendance) in the Norway game; Scurry will. Hope Scurry is ready for Raghnild....

I think Solo should have played in the Brazil game, but I also think she should not have gone public with her criticism of the coach. Whether she would have stopped the shots or not is a moot point and unknowable.

Even if Hope Solo or her godfather was in the goal on that day, they would not have been able to stop any of the goals from the supertalented Brazilians. Again, in Scurry's defense, no goalie can expect their own team member to hit one in when they are trying to watch the opposing team's forwards and hoping to stop their kicks in. Secondly, once USA was down to 10 people after getting one of their players red carded, there was no one around to support the goalie. And no goalie in the world can defend a whole goal post by himself/herself......
Hope Solo needs to grow up! She was completely unprofessional and should have instead stood by her team, her mentor (Scurry) and her Coach in their time of despair than blast them for not getting to play one game.
Ryan made the right call using his best judgment.. Remember the team went with his best judgment 51 other times when they won against opposing teams. No coach or team wins it all. Ryan made the right call, because Hope is a bit slow as compared to Scurry and Scurry has already had experience against the immense talent of Brazil....
US Soccer Federation and Coach Ryan did the right thing by kicking Hope off the team for her inconsiderate and unpardonable comments. She deserves what she got!
And it is a shame we have sports writers who have no idea of soccer being allowed to write their innane comments in support of Hope's disgraceful comments.

soccer is an unpredictable game and saying tht solo would've made those saves is stupid because scurry was capable of making those saves, but she didn't.
i think people should stop thinking about hope solo and saying that's the reason usa lost and just admit that brasil destroyed usa and it would've happened either way.

Whether or not that's not the point. Hope never should have said those negative things about Scurry. That would be like some young punk telling Pele that he's over the hill. It's irrelevant, and I don't even like soccer, let alone women's soccer.

Scurry was 12-0 vs Brasil so he figured she wud have no problem against them ! WRONG !
He figured the US wud be able to stomp Brasil ! WRONG !
He also underestmated BRASIL !!!!
