terror do you anticipate? They aren't going to be able to fight us head to head. Do you think Syria might jump in to the mix? Will we be on our own, or are there any allies that would come to our aid?

1.Syria has to jump into the mix, Iran and Syria has a defensive pact. That means Hezbollah too, the Muslim Brotherhood, millions of Muslim youth, insurgents in Iraq + even more insurgents in Iran and on top of that Iran has 12,000,000 men if needed and their weapons are much better than anything Iraqi insurgents have at the moment and that seems to be causing enough trouble for the Americans right now.
I am convinced if the world goes to war with Iran it will start WW3. Russia may side with Iran and Syria, and n.Korea and China may too. It's too tricky to tell.

I pray that there is no war with Iran, it will save millions, maybe hundreds of Millions of lives. And I truly believe that Iran is not making Nukes becuase they have nobody to Nuke. They would not nuke Israel becuase that would mean nuking Lebanon, Syria and Palestine, their closest allies and it would destroy Al Aqsa and as an Islamic state that is unthinkable for them.

If you think terror is bad now, I promise you it will multiply x100 if you go to war with Iran. Can't the US see that if it withdraws from all Muslim land and stops supplying Israel their people will be safe, however I think they care more about Israel than that.

The economic effects will mostly be in the price of oil, but it will not last long. Don't think that we will be fighting a land war; I would predict initial suppression of their air defenses, then a surgical strike at all suspect (nuclear and dual-purpose) facilities. I suspect our intelligence services know exactly what is going on in Iraq and Syria, and that we have shared much of it with our allies (including France), which is why there is so much multi-lateral pressure on Iran right now. Syria is an unknown; I think they know better than to get involved-- they now know that even the Israelis can suppress those shiny new russian air defense systems, which is to say that they are sitting ducks. Iran has a very backward military, if we control the air they can't move without being obliterated and they know this. Homeland terror attacks; who knows. Personally, that is like getting hit by lightning and we are playing right into their hands by overreacting to such attacks-- that is really their only weapon against us, and yeah it is tragic, but in the big picture they can't really hurt us.

If america tries to tangle with iran it will be the most foolish decision they will ever make. Whatever inner squabbles the various sects of the muslim world have presently, they will certainly all come together if iran is attacked. Think about it. If you were a middle eastern country and you just saw iran get attacked, whos to say america wont come after you next. The middle east will unite if america is that foolish.

not only that iran is THE major supplier of oil to china and russia. Do you think the russians and chinese are just going to sit and watch as their major supplier get destroyed? The problem with americans is they dont even know their own history far less to world history. Doesnt anyone realize that all it would take to cripple the american economy would be for opec nations to stop trading in american currency? lets not even mention if china suddenly removes the massive loans that are holding together your credit addicted nation.

Back in the day, rome thought they were bad asses too. Thats until they got there asses kicked back to the stonage. If you cant see history repeating it self with the "new" rome that is america, then youve already lost.

Always remember, every supposed great nation that has ever existed has fallen. every last one. America will be no different.

We don't have to invade. We don't have to mass forces and move to contact against Iranian forces. All we have to do is carry out an intensive aerial campaign to destroy all of the facilities which are involved in Iran's nuclear weapons program.
Syria is not going to get involved for one big reason. The Syrians are Arabs and the Iranians are Persians. They really can't stand each other. We've already witnessed something like that over the past sixty years. Palestinians are not Arabs either. That's why any support given to the Palestinians has only been lip service. The Gaza Strip was allowed to continue its existence because Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon wanted nothing to do with the Palestinians.

Not sure about a pushover but Iran fought with Iraq for 7 odd years and still could not beat them. But why go to war anyway. Far better to talk than fight and much much cheaper.

We would have plenty of allies. The French and Germans even hate Iran. The Iranian regime would fall to a U.S. led force in a few weeks if not a few days. But then what? Does the U.S. occupy Iran and rule it like a conquered nation, or try to build a replacement establishment like the attempt in Iraq?

you have so many "Kissinger's|" around answering your question that you really do not need mine.
but..in all simplicity here is the short term and long term scenario. in the short term --1-5 yrs. no war, for sure. in the medium term --no one knows. and in the long term -- after 15-20 yrs. one way or the other...the sword of Damocles that Iran is holding on the humanity and "ready to fall or not" have to be dealt with. and yes, it will be dealt with by western allies. so goes my prediction. hope it helps. interesting...puzzling question.

tss, the U.S. government is so crazy, they say they fight for freedom, and protecting democracy, and yet we're a country that has made secret encampments to torture and do acts that violate them, and the only country to have ever dropped nuclear bombs on innocent people, not to mention did it twice. no wonder countries have hated us for sometime now, if Bush wouldnt have been so stupid to overlook things and started an invasion of Iraq, we probably would have captured osama bin ladin by now. for this matter i think that the U.K and Australia would come to our aid, but i would say China and other countries wont, they would love to watch the U.S. go into battle and when we're weak, they would attack.

we should just bomb them back into the stone age, and leave it at that, why waste troops going there.
