Rape is having sexual intercourse with someone against the latter's will. Molestation, on the other hand, is disturbing or annoying someone through vulgar words or acts not involving sexual intercourse.

Physically hurting someone to force that someone into having sexual entercourse may constitute rape. Without the sexual intercourse, however, physically hurting someone may only constitute molestation.

Threats upon someone for the purpose of having sexual intercourse may constitute rape. Threatening without sexual intercourse in mind may constitute mere molestation.

Rape is committed in the presence only of the person or persons committing the crime, whereas molestation can be committed either in private or in the presence of mere bystanders.

The penalty for rape is more severe than the penalty for molestation.

Molestation and rape are both forms of sexual abuse. Molestatation is forcing unwanted sexual attentions on someone (touching, holding, etc.) and doesn't necessarily HAVE to include actual intercourse. Rape is actually forcing someone to have intercourse.

Umm... and that's the best I can do. I don't have access to dictionary, my computer's too slow to look up one online, so I'm winging it. But I am pretty certain that's about right.

Hope you do well on your English assignment! :)

Rape is forced sex upon someone against their will. Molestation is forced touching upon someone against their will, but it is not sex. Yet the two are alike because they go against someone's will.

Crazy topic you have by the way lol.

Well, both are forms of sexual assault and harassment.

Rape as I define it is more violent and involves (not to be too specific, but...) actual penetration.

Molestation could involve acts like unwanted touching, groping, etc.
It's not as "extreme" as rape.
