For one, I started nearly 2 years ago and it's still VERY irregular (haven't had it in months, and when it did come it was very heavy or very light and the heavy ones lasted a week or more). I have a lot of discharge that is sometimes cottage cheese colored and sometimes smells bad. Another problem is that when, the other night, I was doing "something", I felt a hardish ball about the size of a meatball about a middle finger's length up on the right side. I had always noticed this, but I guess this was the first time I sort of questioned it.. I'm wondering if you guys think I should see a gyno, and for what problems?

You should see your doctor. Make an appointment this week.

More than likely, they'll put you on birth control at first to regulate your cycle.

As for the discharge and odor, its possible that could imply a chronic candida infection, and it is something you should mention to your gyno.

The mass should also be mentioned.

It could be a uterine fibroid, which is relatively easily treatable.

If you'd like to be proactive in the meantime before your appointment, stop drinking coffee, forever. Its been shown in some research that just quitting coffee in some women with breast and or uterine fibroids can often reduce the size of those fibroids.

But yes, you need to call your gyno this week, preferably today, and make an appointment to discuss these issues.

You need to get into a gyno....NOW!!!!!! There are so many things that can be wrong, honey, don't listen to anyone on here. Go get checked out!!! You should not be having any kind of odor or discharge that is anything but clear to a little bit cloudy. Anything hard like that could be multiple issues. The irregularity in your periods, in itself, is not really a reason to be concerned. I didn't start my period until I was 16 and it wasn't anything close to normal until after I had my second baby. But everything else is NOT normal!! Go get checked.

Good luck!!!! I wish you the best!!!

Hey,
There are various factors that underlie the real cause of uterine fibroids. There are primary causes that contribute to the development of the fibroids in the uterus, and then there are secondary causes that contribute to the aggravation of these present fibroids. There might even be external factors like, emotional upheavals, which disrupt the normal balance of the body and make you vulnerable to such diseases.

Yes, I would recommend seeing a gynecologist. They will check to see if you have a yeast infection and/or bacterial vaginosis going on and also see if maybe you are dealing with ovarian cysts.
