2x+(8/9x)

2+(8/9)???

what happens to (8/9x)??

If f(x) = 2x+8/9x = (2 8/9)x, then f' = 2 8/9
If f(x) = 2 + 8/(9x), then f' = 2 -72/(81x^2)= 2 - 9/(x^2)

It got divided out when they divided x from 2x. Have to do the same to (8/9x). It's simplifying
