A quitter never wins, I know the perspective you pose your Q from and I can understand the pain and demoralising aspect of yet another "failed" relationship. Putting everything in and getting "crumbs" back... I don't know how to let go especially as, what I had, I believed in..y'know?
I reckon that one morning you just wake up and think, "now or never" and dust yourself down and just go for it.

Get a good grip, then let go real fast so it falls down, and you can get a good laugh.

I just close my eyes and open my hands. It's difficult and I'm heart broken for a while but I know I had to do it.
