Come on now at this time I would say no. History wise I would say they are the best college football team to walk onto the field, and their rivalry with USC has produced more heisman winners, and national champions than any other. So historically yeah, but right now not close. Next year is a new year and the players will have a year under their belts and hopefully be on the right track. If not then it may be a long ten years for us Irish fans.

I mean no disrespect to the very storied history of the Fighting Irish, but if you look at the last 32 years (Devine-Weis) ND is 258-123-4, about 67% winning percentage- nothing to woo over. More unimpressive is if you look at the last 10 years (Davie-Weis) ND is 75-51, only a 56% win percentage. Everyones shock that a team who has barely maintained a winning record for the last decade is having an abysmal season is kind of silly.

They are the worst team with the best TV deal. Rumor is the Athletics Director is trying to get the football program in the Central States Football League.

If we are talking about being the best at losing, then yes they are. Aside from that, they may set the record for worst stats in a season and loses in a row.
The Fighting Irish could not fight there way out of a wet paper bag.

OMG THEY ARE AMAZING!!!!! They are definitely looking like national title contenders this year! There's no doubt that they can beat the top teams out there, like USC and Florida and LSU. They've got NOTHING on the Fightin' Irish!!!! YEAH!
