Electrons are microscopic with a negative charge, they make up a atom. an atom is made of electrons (negative charge), neutrons (no charge, and or neutral charge), and protons (positive charge). The protons and neutrons are in the nucleus of an atom, and the electrons are the outer layer of the atom. Depending on the electrons or the oxidation number the atom may be able to fuse with another atom this process is called atomic fusion.

Electrons are the basic negatively-charged particles in atoms. Each is about 1/1836th the mass of a neutron or a protons, which are the particles used to determine the atomic weight of an element. Electron transfers or sharing between elements brings about the formation of the compounds which make up the bulk of the science of Chemistry. Horray for electrons!!

Electrons are negatively charged particles that orbit the nucleus of an atom in principle energy levels. They have a mass of approximately 1/1836 amu (atomic mass units) and appear to be point particles with the current magnification capabilities (particles that can't be divided into smaller units).

Note: Principle energy levels are NOT fixed orbits. They are ranges of locations at certain distances from the nucleus in which there is a high probablilty of finding an electron.

An electron is a negatively charged subatomic particle. It can be either free (not attached to any atom), or bound to the nucleus of an atom.
