I thought it was tools, options and something. I can't find where to check all of them. Because I am trying to watch an mpeg file type and it won't work.

In Windows Media player - Tools>Options>File Types(tab)
Make sure 'Movie File MPEG' has a check mark.
You should download Windows Media Player, if you don't already have it.

Open the file explorer first.
tools /Folder Options/ File types

You need a player that will play .mpeg files.
