My friend offered to sell me a razor moter scooter for 20 dollars and its at my house right now. How can i convince my parents, but mostly my mom, she thinks there not safe but im 12 years old and drive it exceptionally. Is there some online motor scooter safety test I can take?

My friend is selling it for 20 dollars because she is not good with money and only needs 20 dollars. I would only ride it in my subdivision and there are no known sexual criminals anywhere nearby bc my mom checked online. It is very safe and i would ONLY ride it in the neighborhood, you have a great point though.

I don't think an on-line test will do anything. Ask your mom to follow you on a test drive, and then follow all the rules.
As a mom myself, I'm not sure I would let you, though. First, it's not YOUR driving, but those idiots out on the road who don't look for motor scooters, and drive like idiots. You know, drunk drivers and the kind of person who drives 55 mph in a school zone.
Also, it'd be easy for a pervert to "bump" your motor scooter and kidnap you.
This is just a mom's wild imagination, I know, but my daughter is 11. I would let her ride a motor scooter around the farm, but never to school or town.
One more thing: why is your friend selling it for 20 bucks? Is she not bright with money, or is something wrong with the thing? Buyer beware.
MAYBE, if you set certain rules and boundaries, and keep your promises, you can convince your parents that its OK.
Good luck. I hope you live in a nice neighborhood, and can work this out.

These are extremely dangerous for a 12 Y/O to be fooling around with. If someone backs out of a driveway or comes around the corner very fast, you cannot stop that thing quickly enough to stay alive.
I'm with your mom. Young kids always think they can own and use a BB gun safely too, but we all know better.

They're just not safe. The brakes aren't good enough, they're too small and they don't offer any kind of protection. Wait until you're old enough and get a moped or scooter instead, something that's actually intended to be ridden on the road.

The price is not relevant. I think that you should follow your parents' lead without complaint. They love you and are responsible for raising you which gives them every right to set rules and limits.
I think that their fears may be reasonable depending upon a lot of variables that we cannot possibly see.
There are many years for you to enjoy riding and do other things when the time is right. The worst that can happen is that you will buy a good bike later when you are better able to handle it safely.

right it particularly is my solutions. a million. locate somebody your age who rides a Scooter and the two one in all you have a communicate alongside with your friends. 2. tell your friends which you will take a secure practices type until eventually now get one. 3. touch a scooter save approximately getting risk-free practices brochures to furnish to you individuals. 4. Or tell your father and mom;" the two the scooter or i will waste my no longer undemanding-earned funds on ladies and (root) beer(LOL)".
