The monitor is working fine as I have checked it on my laptop, but the PC will not work. It was fine yesterday, but if it is not fine when i hand it in on Monday I'm in deep s***. Please help!

I presume you have checked all cables, sometimes if you move PCs they can become loose. If something has gone wrong though, presumably your employers know you have the PC and are therefore covered by insurance. However, as you have a laptop of your own, why did you need to take the company one home? Its easy enough to get data from one computer to another without transporting the actual computers. If it really is dead, could be motherboard, could be RAM, could be power pack, could be any number of things.

If you've checked the wire going to the wall outlet and that's OK look on the back of the machine sometimes computers have a separate on/off switch on the power supply and you may have switched it off by accident, also check that it's set on the proper voltage, many power supply's have a voltage switch to use in different areas of the world. if all that didn't work open up the computer and check if the plug from the power supply to the motherboard hasn't come loose. I hope this helps.

check fuses, if the motherboard has malfunctioned then the fan in the power supply at the rear will still turn on. if fan is not working the power supply in the tower may have packed up. If fan is working in power supply and you are confident enough take the side off the tower and check all the connections on the motherboard and then try to restart. hope this is some help to you.

On the back usually on the back of the tower there is this thing in the back, a switch, mine says 115, but if I move it over, and try turning it on, it won't do anything at all, so move your switch in the back, which is usually by the power supply in the back of the tower, move it over with something like a butter knife, then press the power button, and hope it works, I hope this helps (:

Is there a KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) switch in the circuit? They're helpful for technicians who don't want to disconnect and reconnect the keyboard, monitor, and mouse every time they begin troubleshooting another computer.

If so, it may simply be a matter of switching it to the right position.

If you have removed the keyboard and mouse make sure they are plugged into the proper outlets. Purple for the keyboard and green for the mouse.
Can you enter safe mode, by pressing F8 at boot? If yes does the K & M work in safe mode?

If there is absolutley no power....sometimes by moving it something may have come dislodged.

Open it up and check everything is firmly placed.......particucularly the memory sticks because although these are always stuck firmly in..they will prevent the tower switing on at all if slightly dislodged
