gb = GigaByte, approximately a billion bytes.
mb = Megabyte, approximately a million bytes.
A byte is 8 bits, and can hold any Ascii character or numbers up to +/- 256
38 GB is on teh small side, but will run fine. You may run out of disk space if you save a lot of pictures/music/video presentations.
2.4 GhZ is 2.4 Gigahertz, approximately 2.4 billion cycles/second, the basic speed of your processor. That is not bleeding edge, but should do you just fine.
512 MB of memory is a fairly good place to be,
It should do you nicely, You may want to add a second disk drive if you start running out of space.

okay, that's a decent computer, though not the best. 38gb refers to how much space you have to store files. that's about 10,000 songs, if you were thinking about it that way. It's okay if you're not going to fill it with too much stuff, otherwise you're going to want more space. 2.4mhz. I don't know if there's ever been a computer that slow. I think you mean 2.4 GHZ. which is a thousand times more.512 mb of ram. RAM is Random Access Memory. The more RAM, the faster it'll work. Yours is average for something like WIndows XP or Linux. Do not try running Windows Vista on your machine. Pentium 4 is just the name of your processor. It's a little old, but it's not the worst thing in the world. I think this computer should work for what you want.

Yes you can watch multimedia presentations on it and surf the internet etc.
You wont get far gaming however.
The hard drive is a little small, consider upgrading it.
GB is gigabyte, 1024 MB
MHz is Megahertz, a measure of speed.
MB is 1024 Bytes

It should be fine for presenting multimedia, but next time you should think about what you're buying before you buy it ;)
