Not mad, but naturally agressive. Catching prey and territorial defense are important to their survival, and are enhanced by an agressive nature.

You mean angry. Mad is a mental condition that effects humans.

I grew up in Florida, hunted, fished, boated, got my degree at Florida, and got the chance to do a little work with alligators.

They are generally lay back animals. They get aggressive when hunting, mating and defending self and their territory. And of course when getting messed with by some idiot human. Alligator behavior is not much different that other predators.

In Florida I learn the most dangerous and aggressive animal is the wild hog. They will attack a human and can do serious damage.

Alligators aren't mad, they're aggressive to survive. They have very small brains, but their size, "natural" armor and power keep them a top predator.

Every one else is wrong they are actually mad. It is a scientific fact alligators cannot think rationally.

Do you mean why do they always have a bad disposition? You are probably seeing them protecting their eggs in the nest or hurrying over to grab a yummy lunch that is close before another gator seizes it. I don't think that is a mental state - just instinct.

Because they've got all them teeth and no toothbrush. But I wouldn't say that they're naturally mad; just naturally aggressive, most predators are.

Mad??? All the ones I've ever seen- had BIG, toothy grins! They looked DELIGHTED to "make my aquaintance", and seemed eager for me to get closer & give them a hug! :)

They're not mad they are just living off instinct, which is to protect themselves.
