I would say about 3 - and it looks as though I might be stuck in it for another 9 months now. I think I have realised that one of the major reasons why I took the job in the first place was that I was friendly with the people I worked with - and they have now all moved on to other things. The money is not great, either - and I often feel I really need to be working longer hours than I do at present.

I'd say 7.5 I'm stuck between saying 7 and 8 ;)
Anyways, I like my job, but it's not perfect. I think I'm a little underpaid. It's a 2nd shift job, and I'm looking for a 1st shift job (I have an interview Tuesday), and I don't get full proper weekends. My team is 24x7x265, so we do have to work holidays and such.
It has it's advantages though... 4x10 hour shifts a week, every "weekend" (Sunday through Tuesday for me) is a 3 day weekend. Also, being here after most folks go home gives me a little more freedom. For example, I'm at work right now blowing time on Yahoo Answers.
Also, the job is pretty much in my dream field... it's an IT support job, and we do global network and server monitoring, so I get to deal with all sorts of people and all sorts of problems.
So yeah, overall I'm happy, but my family life really could use a couple years of 8-5 M-F like most people.

I pick a 1 and 10.
How can you make people pick either?
Are people satisfied all of the time in general? I don't think so. I personally need a little bit of struggle or challenge, in order to feel accomplished at the end of the day. What makes one satisfied or happy is to do a good job and take pride in it whether big or small.
Basically... at the beginning its a 1 and then by the end of the day, a 10!

My job is a 5.
I make a decent wage. I get paid for 40 hours even when I work only 30 (which is pretty often). It's not that difficult of a job.
On the negative side: I work with boring people. I drive too much. And there's no great opportunity for advancement.

5, nobody including me, knows what the hell we are doing. It is so disorganized, I feel like I am darting arrows everyday. I have to make major decisions, with no information to go on ad everything changes from day to day.
But the money and the hours are pretty good. The people I work with are so funny and great coworkers. But the job stinks.

I hate my job and the people I work with but the money is great. I work with too many women that are psychotic and when I get home all I can do is lay down the re cooperate from another hellish day and get ready for the next.

About a 7. It is too far from my house, and I don't get paid enough for what I do, other than that, I like it. I get to hang out here most of the day so it is pretty cool.
