too bad for the people that Myanmar doesn't have oil, or Shrub would surely have sent in the troops by now

Burma does have oil. That is how they get their money - through trade with China. Burma has vast reserves of oil and gas. China needs their oil, so China is their biggest ally. That is why everyone is asking China to intervene. There has been talk of people boycotting the Olympics in Beijing. I say that we stop buying things that are made in China. If that is even possible.

I do find it frustrating that our country is in Iraq, when the people of Burma desperately need help. That is why it is so very important that we are supposed to be careful of who we allow to lead our country.

Myanmar does have oil and a lot !!!
America can no longer send messages to the Myanmar government or any other one since your leaders have lost their credibility and made the voice of your country less heard-able to any leader in the world. These people won't get help from a country who needs help. May God help them since He only can help them in their struggle.

Sunday on C-SPAN, I saw a representative from Myanmar, can't think of his first name, Mr. Din, and he said that it should be handled by Asian countries. He hopes that we (U S), or someone can convince China to help them. He mentioned a rep from the UN, but no military forces. I hope President Bush was watching that, or heard about it.

I didn't see the beginning when he was introduced. He was taking telephone calls when I tuned in.

Very Good... but you can also donate to Reporters Without Borders -

They are helping to make sure we get information about Myanmar without censorship from the junta:

Military governments don't take "messages". The ONLY language they understand- is War. And as long as all our Forces are bogged down in Iraq, we can complain ALL we want- and the other Military govenments in the World will ignore us... Just be thankfull it's their OWN people the Myanmar government is threatening- & not ours...
