I can't decide if this is for real or a joke. The site of the company that's buying the DNA (www.NewLineGenetics.com) looks pretty solid, but if they're telling the truth, it's amazing what they can do.

DNA can be obtained by simply swiping a Q-Tip across the inside of your cheek. It can be obtained by a piece of hair, even.

...but you gotta think of why they want DNA. I'm sure the fine-print says that the DNA becomes their property once you give it, and there is only one thing I can think of as their intention: Cloning.

No. They are not real. Read the fine print on their web site where they say they are a science-fiction satire.

Sort of.... you need to sign up for it, and then since there's this huge list (everyone wants 5 thousand dollars!) hardly any people actually get to do it. but yea if you ARE chosen, its true, although its very unlikely, not to discourage you or anything, but I doubt you would get chosen, nothing personal of course!

what do they use the DNA for?
cloning?!

that actually sounds really cool,
but there's a fair chance it's a huge scam.
