NOPE! If installed as boot drive (master), XP will immediately look for the drivers of the motherboard. Be ready with the driver CD. But if installed as slave drive, you will still boot on the NT drive. All the files on the XP drive will be accessible.

If you just move a hard drive with an existing OS installed, its OS may not work on the other computer, unless its hardware is the same. The better you do is to install the OS on the hard drive after you've plugged it in on the other computer.

As long as both are IDE type drives and they most likely are.. You will have to reload the operating system and better off reformatting before you do that... If you are going to add another drive to the existing drive you have to set the master slave jumpers on the drive properly.

It will not fry it, but make sure to set it to a slave drive. You may be able to use the programs off it, but if you boot directly to it, you may run into registry errors, because of different operating systems...
Good luck

No, it will not fry it. You are just changing the hardrive and nothing else. make sure u know how to install it properly. And also make sure u dont have any static electricty in you or in ur environment. it could cause the harddrive to fail once u put it in.

Switching the hard drive (assuming the power is off when you switch and it is connected correctly) will not fry your computer.

You will most likely have to install a new OS unless the motherboard is exactly the same.
