Does it surprise you that the media really does not care about people?Remember, they are a business and every business needs to make money. The almighty dollar fuels all motives.

Well maybe it's because a lot of those 1,000 teenagers have run away from something. I see lots of youngsters under 20 begging in the streets of London. They've been at it a few years.
Madeleine is in comparison a very small defenceless innocent child. Taken from her holiday apartment. A place where nobody would have imagined that could happen. She's tiny & probably very frightened right now.
I am not saying all teenagers run away, but LOTS do & we do hear about missing UK children on the news all the time.
I think your question is based very much around your own opinion, but I agree, the media is having a field day at the expense of a very unfortunate little girl and her family.

There has been no news of Madeleine since she vanished. I don't count all the unconfirmed or false sightings. It is all about the McCanns, their PR team and their lawyers. I am fed up with it all.

THANK YOU!!! It is about time someone comes along with some sense. Although I must admit, I've never seen any newsstories of any sort about "Maddy's" case. I didn't even know about her until I showed up on Yahoo! Answers and met all the crazies here who are obsessed with her. Thank the powers that be that I live in the States!

For the same reason that after 1000's of Iraqi civilians were killed in US and UK bombings of Baghdad, we only read about Ali Ismail Abbas.
People relate to personal tragedy, mass murder, or in the case you are talking about, mass missing children just becomes an incomprehensible statistic to the majority.

They are concentrating on Maddie's case for several reasons: there is no sign of a conclusion to it - you can make it up as you go along: They are waiting to pounce on the Mcanns if they are charged: I doubt that any other family with missing kids will see a red cent of that money
