But that is not really freedom. How you play it will be partially determined by the cards you have in your hand (your genes) and part by the rules of the game (your environment). Any potential freedom left over will also go out the window because you don't play randomly, but in order to meet your ends (which you do not choose). So, for example, if you are dealt 4 aces, the game is poker, and your goal is to win, you do not have any freedom to throw those aces away. If you did throw them away, it would only be because you had a different goal (maybe to prove that you had free will), but this goal is something that you have, not something that you choose.
So you do not control the cards in your hand, you do not control the rules of the game, and you do not control what your ends are. The only room for freedom is the freedom of the calculator, figuring out how to win with the cards and rules that you have. What does this leave us with if there is no room for freedom? The ability to have fun playing the game.

I don't agree, we're not all dealt the same or equal cards so it's not a fair game.

I agree, to many people blame others for their misfortunes when its their own faults. I came home to Scotland after 20 years living in the lowlands, we all have great opportunities and talent, but people are too lazy so they can lay in their own shiiiite for the rest of their lives. Bloody expensive they are - throw them to the lions I say.

The doctrine that all things, including the will, are determined by causes - the converse of free-will: necessitarianism.

the way you play the cards is determined by the chemical and physical makeup of your brain, and the input that it receives. therefore it is not free will.
