I am 35. It wasn't until this year that I actually started feeling "older" or "my age" or "mature."

I can't decide if this is a good thing or a bad thing or neither.

I'm 37, but I feel like I'm about 20...it's a weird feeling.

the only difference between 20 and late 30's - time seems to go by MUCH faster!

Is it just me?

I'll be 40 in 3 mos. It was at 35 that I too started feeling older. However that does not have to be a bad thing. I have maybe 12 or 15 gray hairs and I am not plucking them or dying them. I feel that I have earned them. They are my trophies that show others that I have endured the trials of life and I'm still alive to tell about them. And I am finding that their are actually younger women out there that want me to share my "wisdom" with them.
Yes, I feel the effects of age. I feel old and unable to do everything I could when I was younger. But that should motivate me to get out and get going. Get in shape. Be prepared for the future, because I could live another 40 or 50 years!!

That feeling didn't hit me until this year when I hit 40. I don't think 40 is old, however. I think it's still very young and I still feel very young and youthful. I find myself much more mindful and opinionated about things though. I have figured out that those who are much younger (in their 20's) look at me as somewhat of an elder figure. While I have a wonderful sense of humor and I'm a fun person to be around, the younger ones don't really have that much to say to me. Perhaps they don't get my sense of humor. I'm around people of all ages a lot these days, as I am active in my community theater. I am at that point in my life where I can still play younger characters or older ones. I think this time in my life is a good thing. I don't have much choice. I have realized that I need to cherish the time I have and make the most of my life. I'm trying to do that day by day. Speaking of days....you have a good one!

I'm over 40 - and yes, I do feel as if I am getting older. But some days I can hardly believe that I am as old as the calender says!

And yes, I am finally feeling as if I can call myself "mature" (hope none of my friends are laughing :) )

this is all a good feeling. I feel as though I have earned the right to say this.

I'll be 39 in less than a month...and rarely feel old. I tell my wife that I live with Peter Pan Syndrom...I only act like an adult when I have to. And keeping up with my kids of four and two years old keeps me young. The only times that I've been close to "feeling" old is some of the aches and pains from normal activities that I didn't feel twenty years ago. However, I'm getting in better shape thanks to my BowFlex and the pains are getting fewer. Like I told someone....the day that I admit that I'm old is the day I really am.

Old age is phenomenally brutal. Anyone over 30 is pretty much done with youth, and is in an overwhelming state of decay. The mind starts shutting down too.

Other than the devastating physical, mental, and emotional effects, it is not that big of a deal.

Old is just a state of mind!!! There are 20 year olds who are old and people who are well past retirement age who are still young!!!
