These people are making it up as they go along - or having it made up for them. They may get answers, but I think those answers will be subject to change and amendment if a better answer occurs to them

The way things are going or seem to be going, it looks to me that the McCanns have been let off the hook. How ?
(1) you don't let 'official suspects' out of the country. It's insane to do that and goes against investigative rules of Police around Europe. Guantanamo Bay is full of suspects, remember ?! But the McCanns were allowed to leave the country when on the 10th of Aug Kate McCann told the media in Portugal "WE WILL NOT BE BULLIED OUT OF PORTUGAL by the Portuguese Police but we'll stay here until we find our daughter..." Yet, as soon as they were made 'official suspects' they fled Portugal. So.... finding Maddie no longer important ?!
(2) The media now seem to focus instead on 'sightings' and.... theories about some gang from north Africa that have a habit of stealing kids and the original focus on the very likely culpability of the McCanns seems to be deliberately was like extinguished... stopped.
(3) Those 40 questions must be absolutely vital in establishing the truth or the Portuguese Police would not ask them. Carefully put together questions to which all the McCanns have to do is give answers to. But they refuse to answer them. Let's not forget that their Portuguese lawyer told them that on the evidence that HE had seen, his clients might very likely be charged by the PJ-GNR Police. Now that they were allowed to flee Portugal do you really think that the Police here will pursue the matter and ask them those questions ?
Whose case is it ? It is the Portuguese Police's case. The crime was committed on Portugal soil. So why do the English Police have to take over the investigation ? Very strange.
I have no doubt in my mind now that this couple is, now beyond doubt in my mind, guilty. And I did say a prayer for them in May when the news of the disappearance was made public.
Let me answer Kevin H above : My friend... the 'obsession' is not with the McCanns. It is an obsession (as you call it) of wanting the truth to come out and that does not mean we do not care about the other missing children around the world. I put a question in YA 2 days ago about my concern with the Dying Rooms of China so.... allow people to debate without you accusing them of being obsessed.
I know very little of US Law but I think the 5th Amendement allows suspects to refuse to answer questions but that FACT that they have refused to answer can be brought up in court and will then be used against the accused. Lucky for the McCanns we seem to be bent on never allowing to the case to reach trial. So they are.... off the hook !!
One final point, Portugal is a western and not a 3rd world country, LOL. Their PJ-GNR Police are the US equivalent of the FBI. They are Police with Univ Degrees and very professional . They do not "spread rumours" LOL !!! Anyone who believes that has a peanut for a brain.
Refusing or not to answer the 40 questions, they will remain official suspects in a EU country and let that be their punishment. The sad thing is, who still speaks for Maddie ?!
Sadder still... what has happened with our duty to help police in finding the truth instead of this new head line : "Sacked (Portugese) maid kidnapped Madeleine to get back at bosses" - how desperate have they become !?!?!?!

"Fully co-operative?" Would that be the same co-operative that they were when they refused to answer questions, and accused the PJ, British police, and DNA experts of a frame-up? I hope the British police get answers, but unfortunately the McCanns have had time to agree answers and stories, along with their friends, so it looks like we will never know if they had a hand in her disappearance or not, because they can lie their way around the questions if they have a story to stick to. It's not a "frame-up" now, it's a case of "Bring it on" and "we have co-operated fully." If they have so little faith in the PJ, then why would they co-operate fully with them. They should start answering, because they are supposed to be helping the investigation for Madeleine, not hindering it.

thats a good question!! if they do get answers to the questions then the police should really consider their answers and think if they have been made up or if the answers seem to be previously well discussed between Gerry and Kate...if that makes sense!
i would love to know what these questions were!

Good luck to the British Police I say. This pair have opted out of answering various questions. I wonder why? You would think that parents in their position would do anything that would help find their child. Unless they are guilty of course or unless there is something they are concealing because they don't want it to come out; not necessarily a sign of guilt as to the disappearance of their daughter. I have a few ideas on that but am not prepared to voice them.

What's betting Kate's health takes a convenient turn for the worst and she is unable to face more questions.
This whole thing stinks. More people know a lot more than they are letting on.
I've heard that there were another Tapas 2 , making 11 in total, and that it could have been Clarence Mitchell and some woman.
EDIT Because the McCanns are arguidos then they have the right to remain silent ,so that gets them out of answering any questions.

I am sure we've heard this one before. Not sure anything will come of it. Probably just another media made up story cos things are quiet on McCann front.

Whilst I find it compelling reading I am also tired of all the ridiculous statements being made on a daily basis. The child is missing, and the parents, family, friends, business associates and famous celebs are not helping find her if indeed she is still out there somewhere alive. I do think the McCanns are suspect and this daily diatribe is not helping Maddie any.
