After being on the site for a while now, I see the ladies are much more open to people and their beliefs, they don't knock them, even if they don't agree,

But some of the older men, not all of you, some. Wow! You guys really need to "get young at heart" again.

Get a little compassion, empathy and try not to be so dogmatic about what you think.

Sorry. I love ya all, but as the young people say. Chill, lighten up like the ladies on the site.

And we are all definately over 55. Common you guys! Be gentle, kind and loving! And don't give me all this Army, and Boot Camp ideology.

Now I'm gonna get stoned, as in pelted with rocks.

I'm not young. I am a baby boomer. So be careful.

I asked them to be gentle, have empathy, and I knew this question would bring out some, well, strange replies......

There is a sad fact going on here that many miss...scientifically proven that men lose "happy cells" as they age, women do not. That is why we see so many crabby old men around...they have no ability to be happy any more...sad, isn't it? When one of my older friends starts in on a tirade, it is a running joke, "Oops, there goes another happy cell...you are down to about 3 now, better take care of them."

Grouchy Young Men

I'm only 43 and I already feel grouchy. I just want a little peace and decency. Of course men aren't happy just having a good time, they want things to be right.

Well I am not 55, I am only 51. My dad is 84 and he is not grouchy or opinionated at all. He is very easy going. But I have ran into men that were and some women that were as well. My mom is that way, she is 73, boy is she that way threw and threw, lol. Poor daddy (and me), lol.

I'm 52 and have never been grouchy or opinionated. I've always believed in live and let live, and whatever your beliefs, they are fine with me, and always treat everyone as an equal. I think i still live in the 60's with old-fashioned beliefs.

I'm not sure about that one. I know plenty of young people who are grouchy and opinionated. I wonder if they are moreso than the older ones.

I really feel that the older males have lost interest (you know what I mean) and it makes them grouchy.

I am really amazed that they can actually type. Most elderly men did not learn this in high school. They took shop instead. I wonder who are actually males. Sorry, had to state that. Just interesting. I did not mean that in a derogatory manner. It is just a fact, in the USA.

No stoning is allowed for this lady. Please.

"Dear me, justme~~ you come on kind of strong, for a lady. Be nice now, don't judge all by a few.
I am married to one of the best men, that God has put on this earth. I also know many other nice men who are young at heart & probally want the same things in life that you do.

I have to tell you, the way you talk, you would scare most gentle & caring men away. Excuse me for being straight forward. Kind, soft words with compassion & kindness always come across more acceptable then a bossy broad. They get grouchy & opinionated around you because they don't care if they impress you or not. Please don't be angry. It's just the way I'm seeing the picture. Blessings to you ~~~~jill

Good observation. My mother told me the same thing about my 73-year-old father the other day. She said he didn't used to be so grouchy and get mad as easily. lol

I think you are looking at the glass half empty, rather than half full.
With the same token, why teen ages are edgy and impatient?
It's the human nature across the board regardless of age barriers, many psychological backgrounds contribute to the personal characters you have mentioned.
