Is there a greater risk taking the Ortho Evra patch than regular birth control?

Im paranoid about getting a stroke- I'm young and I dont smoke anymore. I dont have insurance so Im taking my friends Birth control- bad?

Yes, there is a greater risk of having a stroke with using Ortho-Evra than with the regular pill. I know of someone that got a stroke from trying to use Ortho-Evra.

You mention that you don't have insurance, check with the city health dept to see if they offer a women's clinic that can evaluate you to help you get on the pill. You can ask them for sample packs (I do this myself to help with cost reduction).
