I do not think they do. I prefer to turn my on for a while, when I am going to get ready for bed. Than I snuggle in for the night with my poodle. And than turn it off. Actually, by doing this you preserve energy. But the blanket stays warm for quite some time. I also have a downfeder bedding on top of it and flannel sheets.

No I don't and one reason is what you stated.. The other is I have 2 huge black labs who sleep with me in my King Size bed.. They are my "electric blanket" lol.. Anything that heats up, toaster, iron, microwave, curling iron, etc. takes alot of electricity..My neighbor just bought a huge electric heater for their pool..I hear it running all nite and day now that the days are getting so much cooler in New Jersey..I can just see their electric meter going around like a demon! Can't imagine what their bill must be! Give me Solar Heat for my pool, or close it up for the season..1 week to go.. :-)

No, I don't, sorry. But the very words 'electric blanket' make me think of my gran, who had one, and she loved it. Trouble was, I was always looking for an electric blanket for her that warmed up ALL of the bed instead of just part of it, but I never found one. One of my friends (aged 65 I think) loves going to bed every night with a hot water bottle. I am younger, so of course for me a duvet is enough.
I don't think they use that much electricity. You just have to remember to switch it on a couple of hours before you go to bed. Also, I think you have to switch it off once you're in bed - you can't have the electric blanket on while you're asleep.

I doubt they use much.
Every winter I wish I had an electric blanket but I never do get one! Let us know how it works out! I hate crawling into cold sheets in the winter. Yuck.

no i dont have an electric blanket, my granny had one and it malfunctioned while she was asleep and she was roasting some potatoes for her breakfast at the time. we found her fried to a crisp clutching the potato clasped in her hands. but i have to say electric blankets do have a good purpose, her potato was right and tasty.

I used to have one when I lived in a house with little heat. I loved it. Yes, they do use a bit of electricity. Also make sure you follow the directions and keep your damn cat off it.
