After giving that moronic answer, she still finished 3rd in the pageant. Those answers must not count for much. I guess they just want to confirm that the beauties have enough brains to speak in sentence fragments.

I'd like to see how other people handle a situation like that. I think she just got nervous (only a million or so people watching and listening) and wasn't really listening to the question. Haven't you ever panicked and said or done something stupid? I have no clue what she thought she was talking about, but at least she tried.
Actually, I think it was a pretty good representation of the average American teens response. As in, they don't have a clue about what they're talking about. So she's a typical American, give her a break. Lots of the people who make fun of her are the ones who can't point out the US on a map.
And anyone dumb enough to think hair color is related to intelligence automatically loses the right to make fun of a blonde who says something dumb. Besides, look at the chick, she's obviously really a brunette. People of all hair colors say and do stupid things, but blondes are the only one who catch flack for it. If someone really believes those stereotypes, they're in no place to criticize another's intelligence.
