Whenever I would run a game such as Guild Wars my computer would randomly shut off without warning then I would turn it on and t shut off in mid boot, I checked the power supplies before I put them in, they are just about identical... I grounded myself before even touching the computer..

It shut off because the power supply is to low, guessing the new one also is to low. Went through this with the wifes computer after installing a better video card, and her playing oblivian. You need to up the amps on the power supply

You need to be sure what kind of beeps you hear, since power supply incapacity does not beep at all>

examples:

One long, and 2 short beeps means your videocard is dead. In This case you dont see any characters in the screen. If you got the motherboard and an added one, take apart thje computer and remove the second card. Then turn your PC on again.

1 long, 3 short beeps means also video card dead.

If the beeps are longer than half a secon, then your problem is your keyboard or keyboard connection.

Also, in some computers. if you attach the harddisk datacable the wrong way, you get those symptoms. So start your computer without connecting any drives data cable. You dont need to dsconnect the power ones. Do it one by one.

My last suggestion is:

try your components on a different computer one to one, or try new ones on yours... start with the video card.

What brand and model computer or motherboard?
What brand and model power supply?
What brand and model video card?

Did the computer work with the old power supply before you changed it?
Why did you change the power supply?
Did you change anything else?

Are you sure you connected everything correctly?

Some companies such as Dell and HP use special plugs. If your motherboard does and you use a standard power supply without an adapter you will might fry your motherboard.

If you touched the memory or the video card (on the chip or contacts), you may have dammaged it with static electicity.
3 beeps seems to be the video adapter. Try to disconnect and conect it again, or even try to clean the contacts.
