We have a garage that is level with the yard and while working out there today we killed at least 15 black widows. YUCK! I know we can't use fumes due to the water heater light and the gas heater. Anyone had sucess with another route? It would be nice to use the garage.

I'm in Virginia. I know where they hide but it's a garage...lots of junk I can't just toss out to kill all the spiders.

Sounds like you are doing it the best way you can. Crushing them when you can get them out of a corner is sure fire death for them. I have killed a bunch here at my house in the country. They like to hide under the porch and dark areas.

It's too bad you can't use fumes. Spiders are hard to kill. I'm arachnophobic, so I usually get my husband to spray them with Bug Stop. It doesn't give off fumes and it is very effective. It is sold in clear gallon-sized jugs and has a sprayer with pretty good distance and it's NOT an aerosol. Once you spray the spiders you have, make sure you spray around the garage doors and windows and around the base of the walls outside. Apply it monthly. It should keep your problem to a minimum once the spiders you have now are gone.

Raid makes a smoke fogger that works great. Box comes with 3 crystal filled cans that you drop in a supplied container with a little water. Cans start smoking in about a minute. Smoke gets into all the nooks and cranies kills all bugs. It's non explosive so you don't need to worry about heaters.

u must live in australia lol erm i dont know there must be a way in doing it if you look into zoos and stuff the best way to keep them out and stuff remember black widows are deathly lol and can kill u make sure no child goes in that garage or its an accident waiting to happen

WelI I don't know if this will work for you, but I use heavyduty Spray Glue. Then I spray them with spray. I hate those things so much, I can't even tell you!
