OMG! Yes! I was fortunate to catch her live at the old Cellar Door Club in Georgetown, DC

She was awesome! That was during an era when folk singers were abounding...along with Jon Lucien...remember him?

Odetta, not Odessa (as some have already said) Still active, contributed vocals on Nanci Griffiths "Other Voices Too- A Trip Back To Bountiful" CD

Absolutely! Also remember Dylan, Kingston Trio, Belafonte, the Four Seasons, the Cristy Minstral Singers, Joan Baez (and her sister Mimi Farina). Odetta I believe did a trilogy - great stuff ~ I also remember Ian (and Sylvia?). Guess these artists opened the door allowing music to evolve with folks like Simon & Garfunkle, Jim Croce, Gordon Lightfoot, Glen Campbell (yuck), Denver, Chris Christopherson, Dr. Hook (Walk Right In) et al.

A thumbs down? Watta group!

Sure, big name in herself, she appeared with Harry Belafonte on one of his live albums...she had a huge voice.
