Okay, then. the most key figures sharing world history to this day.

Al Capone might of ran the largest outfit in the US, but he never actually created it, according to the books I've read.

A very subjective question. Without some guide lines every answer must be accepted as valid.

In truth there are many but it comes down to how you define important, or influential, or fascinating.

For me importance is relative to the people impacted by the crime, influential is relative to how the crimes acted as cause for others to do similar things or how the punishment stopped others from following the same path, fascinating is the style in which they committed their crime(s). One who easily comes to mind is former Enron Chief Executive Jeffrey Skilling, who gained infamy as the man who orchestrated the largest corporate fraud in history.

I'll give a few of my considerations:
1) Ned Kelly - Australia's near folk hero bushranger
2) Al Capone since he organized crime in a big way
3) Karl Grossman - very prolific serial killer in Germany who purportedly made sausages from the victims
4) John Wilkes Booths - assassination was quite significant to future events
5) Gavrilo Princip - even more significant assignation of Archduke Ferdinand of Serbia to start WWI

Not only did he kill 6 millions jews(allegedly, the halocaust didnt exist makes intresting points and the number would be lowered to around .5 millions) but he ended worldwide depression and it influenced the start of Israel AND most of the wars that happen today in the middle east.
