Well, if you believe that God created animals, then it would be the chicken. Simple as that.

Well if you really think about it where does everything come from....the earth and cell that make up a person or plant or animal. So the same would be said to the first egg, without having any other animals around it was formed by cells. Then it could be that chickens at one point were like some frogs and can reproduce with out the help of anything else.

I believe the life-form came first, and somewhere in its evolutionary process, it became capable of laying eggs. There had to be a life-form to lay the egg prior to the egg happening. If you're talking species specific, I believe the egg came first in that respect. Though the original life-form that laid the egg came first, evolution would have it that the life-form born of the egg would be evolved slightly from the parent. So, in the broad scheme of things, the life-form came first. But, to narrow it down, the egg came before the chicken though.

The egg. Chickens came from raptor and one time this raptor had a weird egg...which turned out to be a chicken!

This has always been a puzzle to me, but I believe God made the chidken, then the chicken continued producing the eggs. :o)

hm...egg...from a reptile of some sort...then...evolved to a chicken...hey...how come everything is about the stupid chicken and egg...not...how the heck did the squirrel ever exist or...something..lol. that's my answer and cheers!
