What are lines on a script?

I have to do 6-8 lines for drama club. What does that mean?

It means what it says, oddly enough. Choose a speech or piece of script that is literally 6-8 lines long, and perform/read it, whatever is expected of you. You've heard of actors learning their lines? Hope this helps.
