Hi, I had one c-section after being in labor for over 48 hours and pushing for over 6 because of "failure to progress" and because my contractions became irregular. I am pregnant again, and with a midwife that assures me that I CAN do it, and I WILL try.. I'm seven months pregnant, so it's getting pretty close and I am very excited!

Anyway, I don't know of anyone that has had a VBA3C but I KNOW it can be done because I was told about this woman who had a VBA4C and was successful.. I researched a little for you and found these two pages. I hope they help in finding the answer you need :o)

I totally agree with the links provided already. Check out ICAN they have an Elist for support for VBAC. Plus size pregnancy is also an AWSOME site to look at the studies done on VBAMC. And yes the slideshow link that was provided is a real person who really did VBA3C! I have seen too many times on here people saying "oh well my OB said...." BLAH!! Women quiet trusting your docs to give you the truth on everything including the real risks! If any givin hospital can not handle providing care for a VBAC then they should NOT be allowed to have a maternaty ward as cord prolaps is just as common as uterin rupture!! You can do it! Try joining a new yahoo group called VBAMC!! Its still a little new but as more members come the better. I hope they can get more of the higher order VBAMC like those after 3 or 4 c/sections. There is a mom's story on plus size pregnancy that is a VBAC after 7 c/sections and I hope she will join. Goodluck!

There has been a backlash of sorts against VBAC's therefore you will find that many doctors and OB's are only versed in the studies and research for VBAC's after only 1 cecaerean.

I had a VBAC after just 1 c-section but I found a great resource on the web with information about VBAC's after multiple surgical deliveries.

Hope it's helpful to you!

And I hope you can find a provider who will let you try, if you feel it's the right choice for you.

Hun you will need to find a midwife and birthing clinic that's willing to take that risk I don't know of ANY hospital that would even allow a trial of labor after 3 Cs much less a natural delivery Policy where I work is no VBACs after 2 Cs You might be hard pressed to find someone willing to take that risk

I only know of people who have had successful (at-home) VBACs after one c-section. A VBAC is certainly more risky the more c-sections you have had but I don't think it is impossible. Talk to a doctor or midwife who you know supports VBACs and get their opinion about whether or not you have a good chance of success. I am rooting for you! I hope that you can have the birth experience that you want.

Wow, I had one child and am pregnant with another. My son was born via c-section and was told that new policy at the hospital was 'once c-section always c-section', no matter the kind of c-section and the health of the pregnancy. Well, they told me that at 32 weeks along. And that pissed me off because they assured me that I would be going VBAC.

I got in touch with this group called ICAN (Internation Cesarean Awareness Network) who got me in touch with a Midwife in my area who said "We are not going to let them do that to you!"

I watched a video of a woman, who after 2 sections, had a home birth with a midwife and it was very successful. I cried. I suggest getting in touch with ICAN to talk to other woman who have been through your experience.

Don't let the Dr's tell you NO. Get an opinion from a Midwife, and GET YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS! The hospital where I had my son lied in my chart about what I said. And they missed my placenta previa the whole pregnancy, including the week before I delivered when I was hospitalized for heavy bleeding.

The info in the link that the lady above me posted is great!!!!!

And don't forget that if you want you CAN change your OB/GYN to a midwife if you are not comfortable. I did late in my pregnancy and am much much happier for it. I will always go to a midwife if I choose to have more children.
